India, May 11 -- F ollowing the success of Kantara: Chapter 1 (2025), actor Rukmini Vasanth has been generating buzz around a possible role in the biopic of legendary Carnatic singer MS Subbulakshmi. Earlier reports had also linked Sai Pallavi to the project, though no official confirmation has been made so far. Addressing the speculation, Rukmini clarifies that while she has read the script, nothing has been finalised yet. "The script has come to me, and I have read it, but I cannot comment much on that right now," she says. The 29-year-old, however, admits she would consider it an honour to be associated with a story like this. "It would be a privilege to be a part of the film. She had such an incredible life and story. Regardless of who plays MS Amma, the story itself would be fascinating because she lived such a beautiful life," she adds. Meanwhile, rumours around Rukmini's Hindi film debut continue to circulate, though the actor says she is still waiting for the right project. "I have been having a lot of meetings and reading scripts. Hindi is a language I'm very comfortable in, so the idea of performing in Hindi means a lot to me. I'm just looking for the perfect project that allows me to grow as an actor and present this side of me to the audience," she signs off....
