India, April 30 -- For a while, veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, who played the famous super-hero Shaktimaan in the '90s TV series of the same name, has been talking about turning it into a film. However, he has also been vocal about how particular he is about casting for the role and that he has "an image in his mind" and actor Ranveer Singh doesn't fit it because his face exudes "negativity". He shares that people are trying to convince him for a long time that Ranveer would be great in the role of super-hero Shaktimaan but he doesn't agree, Dhurandhar franchise's success notwithstanding. "Mujhe manane mein lage hue hain sab, ki Dhurandhar chal gayi, ab toh Ranveer bahut bada actor ban gaya. I don't want a very big actor for Shaktimaan. I have an image of for the role that Ranveer doesn't fit, which is why I took a stand against it. I am not against his performance, though," he says. The 67-year-old adds, "Woh (Ranveer) Alauddin Khilji (in the movie Padmaavat 2018) kar sakta hai, Gully Boy (2019) kar chuka hai, woh Dhurandhar (2025) kar gaya bohot achha, maine taareef bhi ki. But for me, to become Shaktimaan one does not just need to be an actor, but also needs a face which should suit the superhero. Mera objection sirf yahi hain ki uski aankhon mein Shaktimaan dikhna chahiye, woh khada ho toh woh scheming nahin dikhna chahiye. I can sign Ranveer for Kilvish (the villain), not for Shaktimaan. Negativity hai uske face par, positivity nahin hain." Meanwhile, Mukesh, who played the role of Bhishmapitahma in BR Chopra's Mahabharat, had also expressed his disapproval of actor Ranbir Kapoor portraying Rama in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming film Ramayana: Part 1 last year. Now that the teaser is out and is well received by the audience, he says, "Teaser se baat nahin banti. Woh kabhi kabhi misleading hota hain. Humesha hum best foot forward karte hain. When a boy and a girl are dating, they put their best foot forward. Par asliyat shaadi ke baad maalum padhti hai. Poori film bolegi. Adipurush film boli thi. I can't form my opinion on a teaser about the film."...
