India, Nov. 8 -- Actor Saiyami Kher opens up about missing Diwali with her family, reminiscing about their festive trips together and the familiar aromas of her grandmother's recipes. While festivals are traditionally celebrated at home, the 34-year-old shares how her family has a tradition of travelling together for Diwali. "It's almost become a ritual to travel with my parents and sister. Last year, we were in Italy, and the year before that, in Bali. It is that time we get to switch off from our individual schedules and make memories as a family," Saiyami shares. On missing the family celebrations this year, she says, "Sadly, I think it's going to be video calls this year! But I'm genuinely happy that I'm working. Hopefully, a working Diwali is an auspicious sign and brings me lots of work in the coming year!" she says, adding, "Besides, I'm sure we'll find a little time to bring in the festive spirit together on set as well." Reflecting on her favourite festive memories growing up, Saiyami recalls, "Some of my fondest Diwali memories are of watching my grandmother prepare all the sweets and savouries; how the elaborate spread and the aroma filled the entire house. As children, we were most excited about sweets and festivities! But as you grow older, you realise that what you really miss is having everyone under one roof." Speaking about recreating her grandmother's recipes to feel closer to home, she says, "My sister is planning to make some of the sweets my grandmother used to prepare, so hopefully, she'll send some my way! Nobody can quite match my grandmother's cooking, but I'm glad my sister is attempting it. There's something special about recreating family recipes. It's a lovely way of keeping those memories alive."...
