India, Aug. 12 -- India's Artificial Intelligence (AI) ambitions will ultimately be determined not by talent alone, but by its ability to build the right ecosystem, according to T.V. Mohandas Pai, Chairman of Aarin Capital and former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Infosys.

While India has emerged as a global technology talent hub, Pai believes its next challenge is creating the infrastructure, capital, and policy support needed to compete in the AI era.

Speaking to Dataquest on the sidelines of the sixth edition of the Mysuru Big Tech Show, Pai outlines what he describes as the five layers of the AI ecosystem, spanning power, semiconductors, hyperscale infrastructure, large language models (LLMs), and AI applications.
