New Delhi, Oct. 14 -- Nexedge Capital, an independent wealth management and multi-family office firm, has appointed Apurva Sahijwani, a former Avendus executive, as its co-founder.

Sahijwani, who brings over 28 years of experience in private banking and wealth management, was most recently the managing director and chief executive officer of Avendus Wealth Management. During his two year stint at Avendus Wealth, he steered the business reorganization and helped it become one of the fastest-growing private wealth franchises in the country.

Previously, he served as the head of private banking at Axis Bank and was involved in launching and scaling Burgundy Private, the private banking and wealth management division of the lender. He has also worked at Kotak Securities, ICICI Bank, HSBC, Citibank, and Kotak Wealth Management.

"Apurva is one of the most accomplished builders in Indian private banking. He has launched, scaled and transformed wealth businesses at some of the country's leading institutions," said Anirudha Taparia, founder and chief executive of Nexedge Capital. "Bringing him on board as co-Founder reflects the scale of our ambition."

Nexedge was founded in February 2025 by Taparia, formerly co-founder and joint CEO of 360 One Wealth. It advises ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, and has scaled to more than $3 billion in assets under management across around 1,300 clients, according to the company.

It offers end-to-end advisory across portfolio management, estate and succession planning, business expansion, and global mobility, aligned with long-term objectives and evolving family and business structures. It has a presence across 11 Indian cities, with over 240 professionals, including 95 senior bankers.

The company raised $20 million (around Rs 191 crore) in its maiden funding round a few weeks ago. The round was led by Mirae Asset Venture Investment and Elev8 Venture Partners.

"India's wealth management industry is at an inflection point. A new generation of entrepreneurs, business owners and wealthy families is demanding more independence, more sophistication and a partner truly aligned with their long-term interests," said Sahijwani.

"The next phase of growth belongs to independent platforms that combine institutional-grade expertise with entrepreneurial speed. That is exactly what we are building at Nexedge," he added.
