Lower oil prices and improving global sentiment helped lift major London Stock Exchange indices, with the FTSE 100 opening strongly and extending gains throughout the session.

The FTSE 100 climbed 138 points, or 1.3%, at the opening bell to reach 10,442.19. This rally followed growing optimism over a possible US-Iran agreement, which reduced fears of a wider conflict in the Middle East and eased concerns about disruptions to global energy supplies, thereby supporting broader market gains.
