Why Are Sensex and Nifty Down Today? BSE Sensex Falls, NSE Nifty Slips Nearly 250 points Amid Ongoing Middle East Tensions
India, July 24 -- Today, there have been sharp falls in the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 Index because of higher prices of crude oil in the international market, increasing tensions in the Middle East region, new US trade tariffs, and poor performance by companies in the first quarter.
The indices have registered a loss for the fifth consecutive trading session, where the Sensex index fell by 900 points to 75,514, while the Nifty 50 index dropped by 250 points to reach 23,613. The fall in the indices has wiped out around Rs.3 lakh crore of investors' wealth.
