India, Aug. 25 -- Former US Army Major Nidal Hasan, convicted in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting that killed 13 people and wounded 32 others, remains on military death row as the US Army prepares for the possibility of carrying out executions.
The Army has developed an internal plan called Operation Resolute Justice to prepare for the execution of its military death-row inmates if President Donald Trump approves their sentences. The plan does not mean Trump has ordered Hasan's execution. The Army has said it has not received a specific presidential order to proceed. If a military execution takes place, it would be the first since 1961, when Pvt. John Bennett was executed.
