India, June 28 -- The United States has imposed sanctions on eight individuals and entities, including Indian businessman Alok Choudhari and his Raipur-based company, SBL Energy Limited, accusing them of supplying explosives and other materials that allegedly contributed to Sudan's ongoing civil war. The sanctions were announced on Friday by the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

US authorities claim that the individuals and companies sanctioned played roles in supplying weapons, explosives, military equipment, and foreign fighters to parties involved in the conflict, which has continued since April 2023.
