India, Oct. 1 -- WhastApp has developed a fresh set of optional parental control options aimed at helping parents and guardians to regulate some privacy options and services provided in their teen's account. The control system was developed by WhatsApp and is currently being implemented gradually starting from September 30, 2026. The new tool is not mandatory for teens to use WhatsApp and may be unavailable in some regions. The new parental controls include privacy options, group chat notification, Channels, Status, and Meta AI. According to WhatsApp, the service is supposed to provide additional data about selected account activity but not provide access to private chats and calls of their teen.
