India, July 2 -- The US stock market traded mostly higher on Thursday as investors welcomed a cooler-than-expected June jobs report, easing concerns that the Federal Reserve may need to keep interest rates higher for longer. While the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged more than 400 points and the S&P 500 advanced, the Nasdaq Composite slipped into negative territory as technology stocks continued to face selling pressure.

Wall Street's latest move comes after a recent chip-led technology sell-off, with investors rotating into financials, industrials and other value-oriented sectors. The market is also closing out one of its strongest first-half performances in years despite increased volatility in high-growth technology stocks.
