India, April 19 -- US-Israel-Iran War Latest Update: US President Donald Trump has mocked Iran's renewed attempt to assert control over the Strait of Hormuz, calling the move an effort that "got a little cute" but will not succeed in pressuring or "blackmailing" the United States.

Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump said Iran's actions were not unexpected and insisted Washington would not be intimidated despite escalating regional tensions involving the strategic maritime route.

"They wanted to close up the strait again. they can't blackmail us," Trump said, while signalling continued diplomatic engagement with Tehran.
