India, May 17 -- Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has arrived in Tehran for a two-day official visit focused on supporting efforts to restart stalled diplomatic talks between Iran and the United States, according to Iranian media reports.

He was welcomed in the Iranian capital by Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. The visit comes shortly after Pakistan's Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, also travelled to Iran, reflecting a noticeable increase in Pakistan's diplomatic activity in the region.

Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported that Islamabad is continuing its mediation efforts to encourage dialogue and reduce tensions following a fragile and unstable ceasefire between Tehran and Washington.
