India, May 11 -- UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has admitted that Labour suffered "tough" election setbacks across the country and said he takes full responsibility for the disappointing results, while firmly rejecting growing calls for his resignation.
Speaking to party members and journalists after heavy losses in the Holyrood, Senedd, and local elections, Starmer acknowledged voter frustration but insisted he would continue leading the party and government despite increasing pressure from Labour MPs.
"I'm not going to walk away," Starmer said when asked whether he would contest a possible leadership challenge if one were launched by a member of his own party.
