India, Oct. 9 -- On Friday, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an Indian IT major, said that the temporary suspension of the US Government's PERM program would have no effect on its recruitment strategies and customer engagement. It explained its expectations of negligible impact on the basis of low applications it had filed in the program over the past few years.

"Our US PERM applications were single digit in the last two years and hence we do not expect the suspension of the program to impact our workforce strategy and customer engagements," TCS said in its statement.

TCS, however, reaffirmed its plan of recruiting additional 15,000 workers over the next five years in the US market.
