India, July 22 -- The Sunol Fire, officially named the Little Fire, has scorched more than 1,000 acres in Alameda County, California, prompting evacuation orders and a large-scale firefighting response near Pleasanton and Sunol. Fire crews made significant progress overnight, with containment increasing to 40% by Wednesday morning, according to Cal Fire.

Authorities said firefighters have successfully stopped the forward spread of the blaze, although evacuation orders remain in place for some areas as crews continue to strengthen containment lines. Officials have not yet determined the cause of the wildfire.
