The index opened on a positive note at 79,055.38 and touched the same level as its intraday high before trimming some of its early gains. Market sentiment remained upbeat after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) kept the key repo rate unchanged at 5.25%, in line with expectations from most market participants.
