India, Sept. 24 -- Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex experienced a major fall in the early morning hours of the trading period on Thursday, September 24, as a result of an increase in crude oil prices, US bond yields, and other external elements. Sensex fell by 632.68 points, 0.85% to reach 74,189.55.

Crude Oil Above $100 Weighs on Markets

Nevertheless, the Brent oil price remained above $100 per barrel at $102.20-$102.50. This triggered fears of inflation and rising interest rates. The rise in the oil prices was one of the contributing factors behind the weak performance in the market on Thursday as per reports from Reuters. The US 10-year Treasury yield surged to 5.11%.
