India, Aug. 21 -- The benchmark S&P 500 index rebounded on Friday after a sharp decline in the previous session, as investors assessed elevated Treasury yields, rising oil prices, the Federal Reserve's interest-rate outlook and fresh corporate earnings. The index was recently up 0.39% at 7,670.18, according to the market update cited in the trading session.
The rebound follows Thursday's broad sell-off, when the S&P 500 fell about 0.9%, while the Nasdaq Composite declined 1% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1.3%. Reuters reported that all three major U.S. indexes were nevertheless headed for weekly losses.
