India, June 21 -- A wildfire near the University of Utah Hospital sparked a large emergency response in Salt Lake City on Saturday evening, leading to evacuations, road closures and heavy smoke across parts of the campus and surrounding foothills.

The blaze, known as the Bonneville Fire, was first reported around 5:55 p.m. local time near 1950 East Circle of Hope Drive above the University of Utah. Initially described as a grass fire, it quickly spread through dry vegetation, prompting local and state fire agencies to launch containment efforts.
