India, June 24 -- The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has issued a new "dog lockdown" warning, urging pet owners to keep their animals indoors and avoid outdoor activities as an intense heatwave sweeps across Wales.

The alert comes as red weather warnings remain in effect and temperatures are forecast to reach as high as 37degC in some areas, raising serious concerns about pet safety and heat-related illnesses.
