India, Oct. 28 -- Punjab School Holiday Tomorrow: Students and parents across Punjab are checking whether schools will remain closed on Thursday, October 29, 2026, on the occasion of Karwa Chauth. The festival is widely celebrated in Punjab and other northern Indian states, but its observance does not automatically mean that all schools will close.

According to the available information, Karwa Chauth, also known as Karaka Chaturthi, appears in the Punjab government's 2026 holiday calendar as a restricted holiday. This is different from a compulsory public holiday, so students should not assume that government and private schools across the state will remain closed.
