India, Aug. 30 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Uzbekistan on Saturday, August 29, for a two-day state visit aimed at strengthening India-Uzbekistan strategic ties. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally received Modi at Tashkent-Humo International Airport, setting the tone for a high-profile visit.

The two leaders were later seen travelling together in the same car from the airport, a gesture that has been described as another example of PM Modi's "car diplomacy". The leaders also shared a warm interaction during Modi's arrival in Tashkent.
