India, Oct. 8 -- The Nifty 50 is trading lower on October 8, 2026, amid caution after RBI's unexpected interest rate increase and further rise in the price of crude oil. The Nifty 50 has opened weak and slipped below the level of 22,500 during the morning session. According to the market reports, the Nifty 50 lost 157.90 points, or 0.70%, and is now trading at 22,445.15 as of 11 am. The Nifty 50 opened at 22,533.70, losing 69.35 points, or 0.31%.
