India, Sept. 29 -- The Nifty 50 dropped to a six-month low on Tuesday, September 29 2026 as rising crude oil prices higher US Treasury yields and ongoing geopolitical tensions put pressure on Indian equities. This decline followed a than 1.5% drop the previous day with selling continuing across the market during morning trade.

50 am IST the Nifty 50 was down 0.77% at 22,606.10 while the BSE Sensex fell 0.82% to 72,179.87 according to Reuters. Both indices had dropped much as 0.9% and were trading at their lowest levels since early April. The weakness was widespread with 14 out of 16 sectoral indices moving lower.
