India, Aug. 18 -- The Nasdaq Composite came under renewed pressure on Tuesday, August 18, as rising Treasury yields, elevated oil prices and growing uncertainty surrounding the U.S.-Iran conflict weighed on technology and other rate-sensitive stocks.
According to Reuters, the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.06%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.12% and the S&P 500 dropped 0.49%. The three major U.S. indexes moved to roughly two-week lows during the session. The market weakness came as investors reassessed the outlook for inflation, borrowing costs and Federal Reserve policy amid renewed geopolitical risks.
