India, Oct. 5 -- The Nasdaq Composite climbed to a fresh record high on Monday, October 5, 2026, as gains in major technology and growth stocks lifted the index despite elevated U.S. Treasury yields and ongoing concerns about inflation, energy prices and global fiscal risks.

Nasdaq data showed the index at 27,391.23, up 200.36 points or 0.74%, compared with its previous close of 27,190.86. The index touched an intraday high of 27,403.57.

Reuters separately reported the Nasdaq up about 0.77% at 27,399.71 at 11:48 a.m. ET, while the S&P 500 gained 0.50% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.06%.
