India, Aug. 21 -- Five teenage boys were killed in a devastating head-on collision on the M9 motorway in County Kildare in the early hours of Sunday, August 16, 2026. The crash occurred between Junctions 3 and 4 near Moone, after a BMW was travelling in the wrong direction on the motorway and collided with a Hyundai carrying a family. Four people in the Hyundai were seriously injured.

The fatal collision happened at around 3am on Sunday on the M9 near Athy, County Kildare.
