India, June 7 -- Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper has issued a public apology after he and his girlfriend were arrested on domestic violence charges following an alleged altercation. The NFL player appeared in Colorado's 23rd Judicial District Court on Friday and is scheduled to return on Monday for a disposition hearing as the legal process continues.

According to his attorney, Harvey Steinberg, Cooper was granted a personal recognizance bond, meaning he was released without having to post bail upfront.
