India, June 7 -- Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper has issued a public apology after he and his girlfriend were arrested on domestic violence charges following an alleged altercation. The NFL player appeared in Colorado's 23rd Judicial District Court on Friday and is scheduled to return on Monday for a disposition hearing as the legal process continues.
According to his attorney, Harvey Steinberg, Cooper was granted a personal recognizance bond, meaning he was released without having to post bail upfront. Shortly after the incident, Cooper addressed the situation on social media, apologizing for his actions and also sharing a Bible verse with his roughly 60,000 followers as he spoke publicly for the first time since the arrest.
