India, Sept. 21 -- The IIT Bombay protest which erupted in wake of the death of second-year student Sahil Wakode took a new turn when IIT Bombay Director Professor Shireesh Kedare signed an 18-point charter of demands by protesting students on Sunday night. This comes after almost a three-hour long discussion between Professor Kedare, senior faculty members and protesting students at the main gate of the institute. The discussions were live streamed by protesting students.

While the protesting students consider this move as acceptance of all their demands, the administration, on the other hand, is of the view that discussions will still continue and that the procedure would be followed. The institute has planned a special meeting of its ...
