India, June 26 -- The Central Government has announced a revision in passport application fees, with the new rates set to come into effect from July 1, 2026. The revised charges were notified by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) through the Passports (Amendment) Rules, 2026, marking the first major revision in passport fees in over a decade.
The updated fee structure will apply to fresh passport applications, renewals, Tatkal services, replacement of lost or damaged passports, Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs), and certain other passport-related services.
