FTSE 100 Today: Index Rises as UK GDP Growth Beats Expectations; Utilities and Miners Lead Gains
India, Sept. 30 -- The FTSE 100 index climbed on Wednesday, September 30 after two days of falling. Investors were encouraged by UK growth data and by gains in many big sectors. In European trading the FTSE 100 was up about 0.7 per cent. Utilities and mining stocks were, among the winners.
Market Performance
The FTSE 100 Index went up 0.26% to 10,664.93 on Wednesday, September 30 2026. The market felt good because of numbers from the UKs domestic economy. The UKs Q2 Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth was officially changed to 0.5%. Even though there were gains today the FTSE 100 Index is still heading for its monthly drop since March. The FTSE 100 Index is struggling because of bond rates around the world and worries, about inflation....
