India, Aug. 27 -- US President Donald Trump has warned Canada of possible further action as trade tensions between Washington and Ottawa escalate, after Canada announced retaliatory tariffs of up to 50% on around 700 US products.

Trump said it was "time to teach Canada you can't do this anymore" as the two countries continued their escalating trade dispute. Canada's new tariffs, which are due to take effect on September 8, target about $20 billion worth of US imports, according to Reuters.
