India, Oct. 10 -- Delhi Police have detained more than 500 people who travelled to the national capital from different states to participate in the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) planned protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday.

The detentions come as security has been tightened across Delhi ahead of the proposed demonstration. The protest has been called to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over allegations related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
