India, Oct. 4 -- Death row inmate Christa Pike remains in critical condition after a failed execution attempt in Tennessee, with her attorneys saying she remains unconscious and on a ventilator while receiving medical treatment.

Pike, 50, survived an attempted lethal injection at Tennessee's Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville on Wednesday, September 30, after two doses of pentobarbital were administered. She was later taken to a hospital for emergency medical care.
