India, Nov. 2 -- Bank customers planning a branch visit on Monday, November 2, 2026, should check the latest state-wise holiday schedule before stepping out. While banks will remain closed in one district of Meghalaya due to a regional festival, the holiday does not apply nationwide. Customers in other states are advised to check their respective bank holiday calendars to confirm whether branches will operate normally.

According to an official notification issued by the Meghalaya government on October 27, all banks and financial institutions in East Khasi Hills district will remain closed on November 2 on account of the Nongkrem Dance festival. The holiday has been declared under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
