India, Oct. 1 -- 8th Pay Commission Latest News: The 8th Central Pay Commission is currently reviewing the concerns pertaining to the pay scales, allowances, pensions, and service conditions of Central Government employees and pensioners. As on October 1, 2026, the Commission has not yet determined the fitment factor, revised basic pay scale, salary increment percentage, and revised pension amount.

The Commission was formed by the Government of India on November 3, 2025. It is headed by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, where Prof. Pulak Ghosh is a part-time member and Pankaj Jain is a Member-Secretary.
