India, July 24 -- 8th Pay Commission Latest News: The 8th Pay Commission was officially constituted on November 3, 2025, after receiving the Union government's approval earlier in January 2025. Former Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai was appointed as the Chairperson, while Prof. Pulak Ghosh serves as a part-time member and Pankaj Jain as the Member Secretary. The Commission has been given 18 months to consult employee unions, associations and other stakeholders before submitting its recommendations on salary revision, allowances and pension reforms. It is expected to submit its report by May-June 2027.
