India, Oct. 26 -- 8th Pay Commission Latest News: The 8th Pay Commission is still in the consultation and recommendation stage. Central government employees and pensioners are waiting for answers about revised salaries, pensions and allowances. As of October 26 2026 the government has not announced an approved fitment factor revised pay matrix or a final implementation date.

The 8th Pay Commission was formally created on November 3 2025. It has an 18-month period to submit recommendations so the expected deadline is around May 2027.. That deadline, for submitting recommendations does not guarantee that revised salaries will be put into effect automatically by that time.
