India, Oct. 7 -- 8th Pay Commission enters an important stage as it holds consultations for two days in Bengaluru on October 7 and 8, 2026. In this respect, the Commission consults the employee organizations, pensioners' groups, associations, and other stakeholders regarding their opinions on salaries, pensions, allowances, and conditions of service. The next round of consultation will take place in Mumbai on October 22 and 23.

The Commission was formed on November 3, 2025, and it has 18 months to come up with its recommendations. Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai is the Chairperson of the Commission, while Prof. Pulak Ghosh is its part-time member, and Pankaj Jain is the Member-Secretary of the Commission.
