India, Oct. 6 -- 8th Pay Commission Latest News: The 8th Pay Commission has already spent almost eleven months of its 18-month tenure period and is in the process of consulting the central government officials, pensioners, and the associations representing them. According to the schedule, the next set of meetings will take place in Bengaluru on October 7 & 8, and then in Mumbai on October 22 & 23.

But, the submission of the report of the 8th Pay Commission will not lead to any change in salary and pensions for the government officials immediately. The proposals put forth in the report need to go through the process of acceptance and approval by the government before anything happens.
