8th Pay Commission: What Will a 4.38 Fitment Factor Mean for Top Government Officers?
India, May 29 -- One of the most significant salary revision proposals under the upcoming 8th Pay Commission has been submitted by the Indian Railway Technical Supervisors' Association (IRTSA). Nearly 17 months after the Modi government announced the formation of the new pay panel, the association has recommended a fitment factor of up to 4.38 for top-level officers.
The proposal has attracted attention because it rejects the idea of a single fitment factor for all central government employees. Instead, IRTSA has suggested separate fitment factors for different pay levels, arguing that employees handling greater responsibilities and supervisory duties should receive higher salary multipliers.
