Nigeria, April 16 -- Wadagni, who currently serves as Benin's Minister of Finance, secured an overwhelming majority of votes in the presidential election held on April 12, 2026.

In a letter personally signed and released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended the peaceful conduct of the election and the democratic spirit displayed by the people of the West African nation.
