Nigeria, Sept. 8 -- The Imo State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a viral video showing the alleged assault of a young woman and her brother at Okigwe.

The Command, in a statement issued by its Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Okoye Henry, said it had taken note of the video circulating widely on social media, which reportedly showed the victims being assaulted while they were travelling to Abia State University.

The police clarified that the armed men seen in the video were not police officers, contrary to possible interpretations arising from the footage.

According to the Command, the men are personnel of the Imo State Vigilante Organization.
