Bangladesh, July 1 -- The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Tuesday ordered the commencement of trial against 22 accused, including former Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and former Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, after framing charges in a case over the killings of six people, including Chhatra Dal leader Wasim, during the July Uprising in Chattogram.

The order was passed by a two-member judicial panel of ICT-2 led by Justice Md Manjurul Basid, reports UNB.

Earlier, defence counsel Mizanur Rahman argued for the third consecutive day, contending that the prosecution had failed to establish sufficient grounds for framing charges against any of the accused. He also pointed to what he described as several flaws in ...
