Bangladesh, Oct. 6 -- A Dhaka court on Monday rejected a bail petition filed by film actor Ashraful Haque Don in a case over the death of film star Salman Shah.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Manjurul Islam passed the order, said Additional Public Prosecutor Muhammad Shamsuddoha Sumon.

Earlier, Don's lawyer filed a petition seeking his bail in the case. The lawyer presented seven arguments, claiming that Don was innocent.

Among the arguments, the defence said a review of two inquest reports, two autopsy reports, and the viscera and chemical examination reports showed that Salman Shah had died by suicide.

The bail petition also claimed that Don had no knowledge of the incident and had been implicated in the case only to harass him. It ...
