Bangladesh, Sept. 15 -- Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Musleh Uddin Ahmed on Monday directed police officers to divide their duties on an area basis to prevent security gaps anywhere in the capital.

"Duty must be divided area-wise so that no security vacuum is created in any area and there is no shortfall in deployment," he said at the monthly crime review meeting for August at DMP Headquarters.

He instructed the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC), Detective Branch (DB) and thana police to work in coordination to prevent crimes more effectively.
