Bangladesh, Sept. 16 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former Chattogram City Corporation mayor and former Chattogram city unit Awami League general secretary AJM Nasir Uddin for allegedly acquiring nearly Tk14 crore in assets inconsistent with his known sources of income by abusing his power.

ACC Chattogram Assistant Director Sayeed Ahmed Imran filed the case on Tuesday at his office as the complainant.

According to the ACC, as of June 30, 2024, Nasir had Tk2.30 crore in immovable assets and Tk26.38 crore in movable assets. His liabilities at the time stood at Tk6.18 crore.

After deducting his liabilities, his net assets were valued at Tk22.49 crore, the ACC said.
