India, Nov. 6 -- National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Friday said the party was united and dismissed reports of an internal split, a day after a section of legislators expressed concerns over the functioning of the party and the government.Tehelka e-Magazine subscription

Speaking to reporters after meeting the legislators, Abdullah said their concerns had been heard and the leadership would take steps to address them.

"We have spoken to them. Their problems were genuine and they were heard properly. We will take some steps quickly and some steps slowly," he said.

He said the party would focus on strengthening both its organisation and the government to ensure that people's grievances were addressed.
